Cloud 2 Zone Emergency Maintenance January 9, 2012 @ 9:00 PM EST

eApps Emergency Maintenance – Monday, January 9, 2012 @ 9:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5)
————————————————————–
January 9, 2012

Dear Valued Customer:

This is notification that eApps Hosting will be performing emergency maintenance affecting your service on our ATL02 Cloud Zone on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 9:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5). This is a 2 hour maintenance window. Your service will be impacted while the server is being rebooted. Please accept our apologies but this emergency maintenance event is required to ensure the best quality of service. While this is a 2 hour maintenance window, we expect your service to be impacted for less time during that period.
As some customers in our ATL02 Cloud Zone have experienced, we have been seeing a problem in the SAN software that is causing some Virtual Machines (VMs) to become read only. Working with our SAN Software provider, we have determined that there is a bug in their software and they have provided us a patch for this issue. We have been working with the Software Provider to patch this issue as quickly as possible while keeping all VMs running, and have experienced problems along the way. This morning while finishing up the adjustments on the secondary SAN, the primary SAN once again was affected by this bug. In order to finish the patching of the software and to get us fully past these problems we feel that an emergency maintenance period as soon as possible will be best way to insure all customers are in a stable and optimal situation. We will stop the VMs on all nodes, finish the patch on the primary SAN and then start all VMs as fast as possible in order to keep downtime to a necessary minimum. In the past we have been frustrated with the slow speed in which the VMs were restarted and we also believe we have found a solution to speed up that process significantly.

eApps Hosting is committed to providing the highest possible quality of service and therefore we proactively notify you so that you may have the opportunity to manage your business appropriately.

Work to be performed: eApps Hosting will be rebooting the server your service is on in order to resolve an issue. We ask that you refrain from performing administration on your server during the two hour maintenance window.

Risk: (High) – The overall eApps network will be fully operational during the maintenance window, but your VM will not be available during the reboot process.
